Tova Hopemark (she/her) is an actor with a strong connection to her Ashkenazi Jewish roots. She loves telling stories that embody the Yiddish tradition of “laughter through tears,” or using humor to process trauma and destigmatize shame.
Tova is drawn to stories about motherhood – the highs, the heartbreak, the stigma, the ambivalences – alongside narratives about female friendship, interracial intimacies, and women who rise to power or fall out of grace.
She brings warmth, lightness, and care to characters who are flawed, contradictory, unlikeable, or hard to understand.
Tova lives in New York with her husband — who’s a cellist (!) — and their goofy, redheaded toddler.
